What is the sunscreen? 

The sunscreen by Curology is a no-clog, grease-free SPF 30 lotion that absorbs quickly and gives skin a fresh finish. It’s a mineral-powered hybrid sunscreen that invisibly melts into every skin tone.

Acne-prone patients who have struggled to find a sunscreen that was made with their skin concerns top of mind 

How does the sunscreen work? 

The sunscreen is SPF 30 and offers broad-spectrum protection. It is a hybrid sunscreen (mineral - aka physical - and chemical). The sunscreen was formulated to minimize potential irritation and white cast, the most common issues with all-chemical and all-mineral sunscreen, respectively. 

What type of skin does this work for? 

It is formulated for all skin types (e.g., acne-prone) and all skin tones (e.g., deeper skin tones). It was designed with acne-prone skin in mind.  

What are the ingredients in the sunscreen?

Active: Zinc Oxide (9.4%)

Inactive: Water, Dimethicone, Propylene Glycol, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Sorbitan Oleate Decylglucoside Crosspolymer, Cetearyl Alcohol, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Tocopheryl Acetate, Glycerin, Squalane, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Extract, Polyester-5, Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Coco-Glucoside, C14-22 Alcohols, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Ethyl Ferulate, C12-20 Alkyl Glucoside, Bisabolol, Sodium Chloride, Phospholipids, Gluconolactone, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Benzoate, Chlorphenesin, Sorbic Acid, Urea, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.

What is the shelf life of the sunscreen?

Is the sunscreen customized like my formula?

Although the sunscreen is not customized, it is dermatologist-designed to work with the rest of your Curology routine! 

How do I use the sunscreen?

After cleansing your skin each morning, apply your Curology moisturizer followed by our SPF 30 sunscreen. Go confidently about your day.

Is the sunscreen a chemical or mineral sunscreen?

The sunscreen is a combination (or hybrid) sunscreen.

How do I purchase the sunscreen and how much does it cost? 

You can update your subscription to include the sunscreen for an additional $14 (tax will apply where applicable). We are excited to offer you new Curology products that best fit your skincare concerns!

How much does the sunscreen cost?

Whether you add the sunscreen to your 2-month Curology formula or 2-month Curology set, it will be an additional $14 for each shipment. That comes out to $7 per month for the sunscreen. Tax will apply where applicable.

What size does it come in? 

As part of your bi-monthly shipments, you will be receiving a 40 ml bottle. 

Is the sunscreen reef safe? 

Yes!

Will the sunscreen leave a white cast on deeper skin tones?

The sunscreen is designed to invisibly melt into every skin tone including deeper skin tones.

Will the sunscreen worsen my acne or cause me to break out? 

The non-comedogenic sunscreen was designed with acne-prone skin in mind. It was formulated to not cause breakouts. It is tested to be non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic. 

Is the sunscreen water-resistant? 

No.

Is the sunscreen sweat-resistant? 

No. 

Why is there a sticker covering the back of my sunscreen tube?

As part of our product development process, we explored several formulas and produced packaging before landing on our 100% mineral sunscreen powered by zinc oxide. We felt it was more environmentally sustainable to add a label with the final ingredients instead of discarding the existing packaging and producing new packaging. Rest assured the sticker is intentional and is reflective of our final formula. 


Is this product eligible in the Curology Access Program?
