Kaiser insurance

Kaiser won’t cover your prescription

Kaiser will not cover the cost of your spironolactone prescription because our medical providers are not Kaiser providers nor referred from your Kaiser provider.

However, you have four options:

1. Select InnovaScript as your preferred pharmacy to purchase the prescription and get it mailed directly to your home.

Spironolactone cash price through InnovaScript:

  1. 25mg, once daily for 90 days: $18.27
  2. 25mg, twice daily for 90 days: $25.73
  3. 50mg, once daily for 90 days: $20.26
  4. 50mg, twice daily for 90 days: $31.50
  5. 75mg, once daily for 90 days: 25.87
  6. 100mg, once daily for 90 days: $23.19

2. Pay Kaiser’s cash price at your preferred Kaiser pharmacy. However, you won’t know the cash price until Kaiser receives the prescription. Please email our RN Prescription Team immediately and provide the following information:

  1. your Kaiser member number
  2. Kaiser pharmacy phone number
  3. Kaiser pharmacy address

3. Some pharmacies will accept a GoodRx coupon and permit you to pay the coupon cash price. Please see the article “Spironolactone - if you don’t have insurance” to learn more about these options.

4. Discuss the spironolactone with your in-person Kaiser provider.

Medicaid insurance

Medicaid rules and regulations vary vastly depending on the state.

Most states will only cover prescriptions if your provider is a licensed Medicaid provider in your state. If this is the case, then the cost of your prescription won’t be covered, since our providers aren’t licensed Medicaid providers.

Spironolactone coverage varies depending on your state and we have no way of knowing if your prescription will be covered. If your prescription is not covered, you have the option of discussing spironolactone with your in-person Medicaid provider.

You may also select InnovaScript as your preferred pharmacy to purchase the prescription and get it mailed directly to your home. Or, some pharmacies will accept a GoodRx coupon and permit you to pay the coupon cash price if your Medicaid will not cover the cost. Please see the article “Spironolactone - if you don’t have insurance” to learn more about these options.
