Isotretinoin (Accutane)
February 23 2024 6:10pmCurology currently does not prescribe isotretinoin. This medication typically requires in-person care as patients must be monitored with blood tests (and pregnancy tests, when applicable).
Isotretinoin is an acne-fighting pill for people with severe, treatment-resistant acne. (“Accutane” was the original brand name for isotretinoin; even though this brand is no longer available, the name is still commonly used.)
Most in-person dermatology practices prescribe isotretinoin to select patients who do not see improvement with other prescription treatments. To inquire about this treatment, we encourage you to find a board-certified dermatologist near you at www.aad.org/find-a-derm.
